I am sure that in the Leonard Mosley book he mentions that AG was in the front and the Spanish test pilot in the back for the actual flight.
Rings a bell with me as well.
Wasn’t it the Spanish AF Commendante, Santa Cruz(?) that flew with AG, seem to remember they had known each from the war, as he had been one of the Spanish volunteer pilots that flew with the Luftwaffe on the Eastern Front…??

I can’t claim credit for the photo above, only ‘hosting’ it on Flickr. Credit belongs to Andy Robinson.

The speed of those „restaurations“ is very impressive. Only one year for a ME or BF, sorry of course Bouchon is amazing.

A photo of the single-seater’s fuselage popped up on Facebook last night my time, in Luftwaffe camouflage. Fortunately for those whose religion forbids accessing that site, the photo actually came from Air Leasing’s own page: http://airleasing.co.uk/?page_id=208
“Two-seater Messerschmitt Up For Sale…. ….only this time it’s the proper two-seater Buchon….” So it’s not a Messerschmitt then? 😀

Presumably G-AWHH C4K-105 . I see they have used one of my pictures of Red 8 taken in the summer of 1968 to advertise it !!

I don’t think it did sell. In fact, I think it was withdrawn, but I could be wrong.

Did the other 2 seat Buchon/Messerschmitt G-12 ever sell? Was it not up for sale at a similar price?

Sounds very much like Paul Day and Alex Henshaw

There was a certain famous test pilot who had a two seat Spitfire flight in MJ627 at Coningsby in the Noughties, I think. I read there was a good airfileld beat up, but can’t remember who the pilot was.

I guess it wouldn’t make sense to buckle them up just for a photo…

It does not seem that long ago that you could buy a Buchon for about 40% of the price of a Spitfire.
I had always thought that the report that Galland had taken Tuck for a flight in the two seat Buchon was a bit far fetched and dreamed up by the publicity department but this press clipping on the Platinum Fighters website would perhaps suggest otherwise.

I imagine if it sells for anything like that someone will buy a Buchon and replicate it
By: Propstrike - 1st March 2018 at 13:13
What’s the problem ?
Just do 1,453 rides at £3,000 each, and you have made your money back.
Probly..

Seeing as it is the only genuine two-seater Buchon in airworthy state available, I guess they can set the price wherever they want.
