Our family have connections with Vickers/BAC and have uncovered a copy of the following drawing. Sadly the relative in question has passed away so we are none the wiser as to what this part was for.
The drawing is dated 1973 and dimensions are in mm as opposed to imperial.[ATTACH=CONFIG]258001[/ATTACH]

Never thought of it being a military part was too busy focussing on the measurements and didn’t even properly register the NATO classification on it!

It’s a Tornado IDS ( prototype ) drawing, the first two digits 73 identifies it as a system drawing , probably hydraulics ; but my memory alas is getting a bit vague at this distance . Weybridge had quite an involvement both on the design and manufacture side

It might be worth contacting the Brooklands Museum, someone in the archives there might be able to connect that number to something else in their collection. Or perhaps the date will enable them to figure out what project was being worked on. Just a thought.
