Tyndall AFB

Well, next month I’m headed down to the Florida panhandle for the Tyndall AFB Air Show which will feature the Canadian Snowbirds. I’m eagerly looking forward because not only will they be there, but a B-2 (which I’ve never seen) will do a flyby as well as an F/A-22 (which I’ve also never seen). Additionally, the USAF Heritage flight will likely consist of some F-4 Phantoms from the locally-based 82nd ATRS. Several have been painted up in various USAF F-4 schemes from over the years, and they will be taking part in Heritage flights at air shows all over the country. I found some great photos recently from a photoshoot they did with the “new” Heritage flight and in one picture was a P-51, F-86, F-4, F-15, and F/A-22. How’s that for a formation?! 🙂

In any case I’m wondering, the F-4’s aren’t going to be doing a demo like the F-15 that will be in the air show is doing before the Heritage flight, but do you think they do an afterburner take-off? I haven’t heard the sound of a pair of J-79’s in AB in a long time, so I hope they take-off in full AB? What do you guys think are the chances of that?
