Type B Blast Pen drawings required

Hello,

For a forthcoming modelling project, does anyone have copies of plans for a Type B blast pen (FCW4513 – drawing No.7151/41). This type of pen could accommodate a single-engined fighter in one side and a twin (Blenheim etc) in the other. Remember I think seeing one years ago in an old Airfix magazine, but I could be wrong, I usually am!

Just need something to work out the scale measurements required.

Best wishes,

Martin

The example on the Harrowbeer page is obviously designed to accommodate Blenheim sized a/c, so a Hurricane sized fighter will fit – the one you posted has dimensions for either depending on the local requirement but the shelter layout and capacity is the same for both.

Thanks so much, gives me an insight into the size and shape of the pen. Harrowbeer is only a few miles from me, can virtually see it from the other side of the Tamar, so will go and have a look, perhaps when it stops raining.

Someone else has very kindly sent me another illustration but this one shows two different sizes as opposed to the Harrowbeer examples. But then reading the webpage, it states that there were local variations. Presume that this may be the case with any airfield? The plot thickens….

Best wishes,

Martin
