Hi,

Did anyone watch Seconds from Disaster on National Geographic last night. It told you about United Airlines flight UA232 and how it had a failure of the Fan disc in engine two. This led to it shattering and flying out destroying all 3 hydraulical systems giving the pilots no control.

They succesfully managed to crash land the plane using the thrust for steering only, well done to the crew.

So, this is the 5th Worst DC-10 crash of all time out of 17, what is the safety record of the DC-10 like then, can anyone tell me about other crashes,
