United Airlines has had one of its Boeing 747-400’s painted into the new “United” livery. The livery, which is ex-Continental design, is the first time that a 747 has had the livery since the 1970’s when Continental used to operate 747-100 and -200 varients of the aircraft.

Ok, we seem to of got wires crossed…the text that was written in my OP was mine…so it was me that got the details wrong, not UA/CO.:o
Anyways, point I was trying to make was that it looks nice and I can’t wait to see it at LHR, if they use them during the summer months.
EDIT: Here is a slightly better “side-on” image…http://www.airliners.net/photo/United-Airlines/Boeing-747-422/1872040/L/

I’m UA/CO are American airlines. They got their own info wrong, hence my comments.
I was blaming UA/CO, not you.

I don’t quite understand what your implying with you’re “Americans” thing Bmused…I’m English/British/non-American (delete as appropriate?!), but never mind?
Thanks for posting that picture CKTfan, now I come to think of it I remember I’ve seen that picture before, which is from 1994, so don’t know how I managed to get my dates mixed up…perhaps it’ll teach me to look at A.net before looking at Wikipedia for details on liveries.:)

Sorry Bmused that’s my fault, I should have stated that the source of the photo was from UA/CO.
Hence why I said “Americans” 😉
CKTfan, keep up, I already posted similar in post #2 😉

Hopefully, it will be followed by something a little more inspiring in the not too distant future.

Sorry Bmused that’s my fault, I should have stated that the source of the photo was from UA/CO…the text and getting the dates wrong is/was my fault, as I went by the info on Wikipedia, which doesn’t seem to have any mention of them using 747s during the 1990’s.:o
Of course, CO did use to operate B747’s back in the 1970-80’s, however, they were not in the livery which is seen/known today.

Americans, they can’t write English properly and can’t read their dates properly either!
