It has been announced that United Airlines will fly its new Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Houston George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) into London Heathrow (LHR) between 4th Feb and 29th Mar 2013.
It will also serve on the following routes:
– Houston (IAH) to Amsterdam (AMS) between 4th Dec and 29th Mar 2013.
– Houston (IAH) to Lagos, Nigeria (LOS), five days a week, beginning 7th Jan 2013
– Los Angeles (LAX) to Tokyo-Narita (NRT), daily beginning 3rd Jan 2013
– Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai (PVG), daily beginning March 30, 2013.

There is also a B787 due in on Sept 17 …Ethiopian ET-AOQ in 1750 out 0610 (aircraft only delivered yesterday)

Is this the first scheduled B787 flight into LHR?
I believe it will be, unless any other airline is due to recieve their 787’s beforehand?
Hopefully I’ll be on the first flight to IAH on the 5th Feb…;)

When you are used to seeing long-bodied 777-300s, the 787-8 looks stumpy. In fact, at the angle in the photo it reminds me very much of it’s predecessor, the 767-200.
