What do you think about this new upgrade for the good ‘ole Huey. It will have the capability to carry almost as much as a Blackhawk. I think max payload will be 7,100 lb. as compared to the Blackhawk’s 8,000 lb. Along with the AH-1Z and V-22, the Marine Corps, will have a very capable attack and assault force. The UH-1Y will be fast. It can hit 185 mph. It has twice the power of older Hueys, because each engine produces about 1,725 shp. That is pretty impressive. It will have much more modern cockpits that are NVG compatible, plus a FLIR turret. It will also have the usual Huey weapon load consisting of machine guns, mini-guns, cannon pods, rockets, grenade launchers, anti-tank missiles, and air-to-air missiles. The new Huey can carry the same troop count as the UH-1N which it is based on, only it can carry them farther distances, and in a shorter time. Up to 14 troops or passengers can be carried, plus two door gunners if necessary, and the pilot and navigator. What do you think of this new incarnation of the Huey? I like it, but a lot of people disagree with things I say, so let me hear your comments.
