hi everyone, im a long time reader of these forums but thought it was about time i started contributing….
i realise this topic is being discussed quite actively with the source code issue rearing its ugly head again but it seems to be spread around several threads, so thought it wise to make a dedicated thread for it…
Really this is whether the UK should continue with the F-35? Should they pursue a navalised EF, or buy off the shelf Rafales or as ausairpower.com (not the most pro F-35 site in the world) made a good case for the UK procuring F-22s and abandoning the JSF even at this stage…
With $2 billion invested in R&D the UK has already invested a fair amount, but with numbers down to 50 for the RAF/RN is it worth pursuing an aircraft with such speculative performance? also by cancelling its order would that neccesarily mean that BAE and Rolls Royce wont make their money back over the course of F-35 anyway…
anyhow im rambling, your opinions please…
