RE: UK Aviation News

Thanks Beboy for informing me that the Eastern Airways flights are subjectto approvel,I am hopeful they will be in for the summer as unlike many summers pasted the airport has seemed to loose opertors rather than gain them.Last year JER lost Frankfurt Main with Lufthansa,Brussels with Sabena,Dublin with RyanAir and Vienna with Tyrolean. But this year they have got 4 new carriers,Air Wales to Swansea,Love Air to Isle of Man and Bournemouth and AirX ltd to Bournemouth as well as the return of the Tyrolean CRJ200 so things really do look posotive for this year.
Beboy to you know what days the flights would be operated on?Would it be weekends or weekdays?

Just a few little additions to the list:

Humberside based Eastern Airways are also commencing twice daily weekday HUY-EDI J32 flights, operating a good business schedule in both directions. *The Jersey flights are subject to route approval* and are not definite yet.

Ryanair have begun PIK-TRF flights and they are reportedly doing well. They will also launch DUB-ABZ flights this summer. DUB-LBA goes to 3 daily. New destinations from London Stansted include Klagenfurt, Friedrichschafen, Graz, Rome CIA and Milan Bergamo.

Bmi british midland are expanding their EMA operations considerably adding flights to AMS/EDI/GLA/CDg to name a few. They are commencing LBA-ORK services, and are also increasing LBA-CDG weekend flights. Bmi baby is now in full swing and doing well (apparantley).

Manchester gets several schedule changes. MAN-VIE will be operated mon-sat by Rheintalflug ERJ145s. Malev axe their BUD service. OA cut a weekly ATH service. Air Jamaica start A340 services for the first time. AF have axed the LYS service and increased CDG rotations to 6/day. BA cuts a daily MXP service and moves the ARJ100s in to relacate the 737s to LGW, the same is happening at BHX. Swiss operate 3/day to both BSL and ZRH with ARJ100 and ERJ145 equipment. Air malta increase frequency. SAS cut a daily CPH service, and now operate 3/day. Portugalia revert to the F100 and reschedule the weekday flights to an afternoon slot. China Airlines cargo now visit MAN 3/week flying to Taipei.

Easyjet begin operations from Paris CDG/ORY airports. From CDG to NCE, LTN and LPL and from ORY to GVA. U2 also increase LPL/LTN-BFS services.

KLM cityhopper introduce the Fokker 70 onto CWL and BRS routes, both services operate 5/day with a mix of F50/F70 equipment. KLM uk increase HUY-AMS services to 6/day. NWI gets an ATR72 and LBA gets a 3/daily F100 service. NCL-AMS goes to 6/day and EDI-AMS goes to 5 a day.

The continental MAN 764. This is a downgrade from a 777 isn’t it! But should be interesting to finally see a 764.

Also look forward to seeing the Cathay A340 and Asiana 744 into Heathrow, if they are operated at a reasonable hour!
