Having just seen the thread about the Dutch Connie, it takes me back to I think 1963. My Mother won £384 on the pools. The next thing the family knew she had booked us on a foreign holiday to Callela in Spain with I think Thompson! It was 34 Guinias each. (Guinia = 21 shillings = £1/ 5p.) We flew to Perpignan in France as no charters were allowed at that time into Spain.
The a/c were Euravia Constellations, I recall the scramble for seats (No Reservations, also the boiled sweets as the pressurisation was brutal)
As I was 13 no photos, but the memory is vivid, on start up flames from the exhaust, on landing stiffling heat in France.
Very Very Happy days!!!!!
