Are there any good internet providers in the UK who don’t just insist on credit cards for payment? I am having terrible problems with my current one, they won’t answer my queries and take no notice of the information I gave them when I registered. Freeserve, BT Openworld and AOL are not an option, and neither is WHSmithnet (my current one).

I’m using NTLWorld Dialup services (or based on Coanda’s response, NTHell!).
They once offered a free 24/7 service for NTL phone customers, this then went to £5 and is now £10. I think broadband with NTL is something I will most certainly not consider!

Thanks
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I’ve been onto Telewest about blueyonder, and I’ve been told it’s not available in my area (north east Yorkshire). I also checked out Virgin, I like the sound of some of their offers, I’m into the off peak/daytime idea, the current provider has 8am-4pm daily for £4.99 a month, but they are not very good – email queries ignored but I won’t go into all the gory details here!!

I’m with Virgin Net, on their broadband at £27.99 a month.
They also do a dial up at £13.50 last time I checked, had no problems, seem pretty good to me.

Hi Comet. I too am on Blueyonder. Currently have the broadband service which they offer. £25 a month, is what is currently being paid, and this allows 24/7 use of the internet.

Comet.
I’m on blueyonder from telewest as well. Service for me is good. Rare breakdowns, two in eighteen months, and I’m on a dial-up connection. It’s about £14 a month but there are various offers whereby you get free line rental or some such. If it’s available in your area it might be worth considering.
