Just wondering how many airworthy Mustangs are based in the UK, i make it between 6/7 depending on returns to the circuit this year.
1 – Miss Helen? back this year?
2 – Ferocious Frankie
3 – BBD
4 – Janie
5 – Jumpin Jacques
6 – Susy
7 – Is TFC’s Princess Elizabeth the Razorback or is there a possible No.8

Last Summer she was in the less than 100% perfect state that one normally finds a Mustang after a wheels up landing. Hopefully be the end of the year she will be back to normal flying condition. Right now she is somewhere in between the two.

Here’s a piccie of Damn Yankee.
This P-51 is based at Lelystad, where the second P-51 N6395 “Miss Ashley” is also being returned to airworthiness by the volunteers of the Early Birds Foundation. (This the ex 44-74923)“I love the sound of Merlins in the morning”…………. ๐

Miss Ashley arrived a few years ago at Lelystad, packed in crates. It would be great to see it leave the ground powered by its Merlin. Up to now I have not read about their intentions (I should say HIS, because I think it’s a one man operation as to taking decisions) to put in the air.
My idea: this was an investment.

Heard today `Susy` needs some work, maybe an engine change before the move to Brieghton. So will be airworthy soon.

Just got word on a Scandinavian forum that P-51D N167F is in fact sitting in Halmstad engineless. The A-26 is in รngelholm, also engineless. From the post made it appears that it will be some time before these planes will made airworthy again. ๐

You called sahib…? ๐
Well to be honest I don’t know very much what is going on with the SHF. I was told some time last fall that the planes were at Halmstad in Sweden, and that both the 51 and 26 needed some engine work done. Visited their website the other day, and on the airshow participation page it says that 2005 info will be listed in March! This piece of info was not there recently, so I guess something will happen shortly. Not a very updated site though! Will try to contact some other Norwegian tomorrow, and post what I get!

I thought that when Princess E. is back it will be the turn of Twilight Tear for a complete “once-over” ?
otherwise the roster looks good (& complete – for flyers)
I am under that impression too, from various chats with TFC people.
However, for this year at least I think we will see both on the circuit.
