Over the last week or so, we have had a couple of “Dear Occupier” letters from the local district council concerning two developments on our road.
So did you know much nosiness can be had by looking at your local coucil’s website for details on planning applications past and present? This seems to be a growing thing for councils to do – is your council so equipped? Anyway on the site you can see the applications, plans, all correspondance from the consultees and comments from local residents, including your neighbours! With all the related documents to an application viewable online, it pays not to send the same letter dozens of times over otherwise your letter just looks silly and diluted. A fair pont to note if writing to any governmental organisation.
Quite a powerful tool though opening such public knowledge to a wider audience. Where did the bypass through Arthur Dent’s planet get filed? 🙂
There was one thing that caught my eye though. Any returned documents has to be filed… herein see the attached and figure out why the Council has been stupid :p

So in Britain there isent similar function than here, that during the premilary stage of planning process they held this participation-and evaluation congress together with the people and intrests that the plan is about to affect. So in theory during this stage all sort of trouple spots and reasons of complains are investigated and solved with (at least nominally) co-operation wiht the public?
Anyway, as this cross between my future occupation as civil engineer, Im always eager to know more about toher nations planning and survey systems:)

Well, it sure beats Leeds City Council sending letters to me addressed to the garage i rented from them rather than to my house.
