UK ships have seized one of the largest ever drug hauls after a high-speed operation netted three-and-a-half tonnes of cocaine in the Caribbean.
The drugs had a street value of £350m ($620m), the Ministry of Defence said.
The raid, on a cargo ship off the coast of Miami, was carried out by the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary using HMS Southampton and RFA Grey Rover.
In October, the Royal Navy seized a then record two tonnes of cocaine worth £200m off the coast of Nicaragua.

By comparison, as a comment on the sorry state of the Dutch navy:

“I’m not going to speculate about how the drugs got there, or who put them there”

The captain said the same in the interview I heard. I ‘think’ that batch of type 42’s were only officially rated at 29 so obviously its still in fine fettle

Just think if the RN could sell those drugs on – the two hauls together would nearly buy an extra Type 45!
