UK. TV Heads Up

Tonight 10pm ITV3 The Great Waldo Pepper.
From the radio times………..

Reuniting Robert Redford with George Roy Hill, who directed both Butch Cassidy and The Sting, this is a clear case of a missed opportunity. Scripted by Cassidy’s William Goldman, the story of the former First World War pilot who lives on false deeds and reckless stunts should have provided biting insights into the nature of heroism and Hollywood’s shameless predilection for myth-making. Instead, we get a self-pitying tale of a dreamer who has out-lived both his times and his usefulness. Redford effortlessly portrays Pepper’s superficial charm, but lacks the depth to convey his torment. Dramatically disappointing, but the aerial sequences are stunning.

Been discussed here before but a good film with plenty of flying.

I was going to post about this. Haven’t seen it for ages but caught it about half-way.

Does anyone wonder what the point was to the ending? Were they saving eachother in a way from their own troubles?
