Unaccountable ephemera

Just a thought that occured to me…

There are so many people on this forum who are FAR more directly attached to Historic Aviation than I am – there must be shedloads of stuff that people have that so-and-so gave them that might be worth a mint if only they’d signed the damn thing! Or put a name in it…

It occured to me because I have a cracker – worth a mint – if only…

One programme. Spitfire Diamond Jubilee Airshow. NOT signed by it’s first owner – Lady Bader! Given to me by a friend who does her gardening -so he claims… Well, he works where she lives and I know he wasn’t there so… But that is worth diddly-squit as provenance!

So what else is lurking in attics and bookshelves?

Don’t panic, Phil!

I am not trying to sell ANYTHING in this thread! I was just curious as to what other wierd things people had got by strange means (Setter’s garden shed must be worth seeing…). But I don’t seem to be able to start a sensible thread for love nor money. Perhaps I’m better off shutting up and sulking (oh fiddle! Keep forgetting that there are no smilies in quick reply mode!)?

Sorry Snapper, not for sale! Besides, how are you to know that I’m not spinning a yarn?

Seriously, I can’t be the only person on this forum with some strange oddment hanging around can I?
