Unbelievable

Some low life scum has stolen (yes that’s right stolen) a war memorial, this coming about 3 days after remberance day, its a bloody disgrace that someone has no respect for the dead and can do something like this.

This sad story is spreading like wildfire, even Ghana!

Speaking as a hack, it seems to be fact checked (I’m suspicious of Mail ‘scrounger’ attacking stories), as it originally came from the Press Association.

I’ll bet he gets the care he so desperately needs after this!

It’s happened near me too… a local historian placed a memorial near the crash site of Lancaster ND647 at Scraptoft in Leicester. Some lowlife scum has stolen the plaque.

1. Electric razor wire fence
2. 50 Cal Machine gun nests
3. roof top sniper
And my fave:
4. Trip wire activated claymores.

Er i might be in a silly mood today, maybe not perhaps, this lot will keep the thieving muppets away atleast.

What niggles me… no sorry……. ***** me off, is that I am trying to arrrange a fundraising project for a Lanc that went down near us, just over a week after VE day. The remains were bulldozed into the crater along with the wreckage. Its a grave basically. 100 yds away is a senior school which is the most undersubscribed school in Wolverhampton. 12 months ago, 50 pupils attacked a truck driver who had to brake sharp and sound his horn at a group of kids who ran across the road in front of him. 100 yds the other way is a pub where the police are called almost nightly and cars are damaged almost nightly. What chance for a memorial that will take me years to fund with a ‘scrap metal’ price of a couple of hundred quid? 😑

Wake up and smell the coffee, it’s too bloody late, there’s no turning back, the sacrifices over the past hundred years of servicemen fighting for this country mean nothing to the present lot in power. If they had their way there would be no bloody Remembrance Day. !!! Saint Blair would not stop them not if there was any milage in it for him. .

And yes you could call me a bigot, when you have had over Β£3000 worth of farming equipment and stock pinched by Albanians in 4 months it tends to concentrate the mind wonderfully especially when they get free legal aid and I have to pay for a solicitor each time.

Rant over. :diablo:

Shorts, it seems the likes of u & me have made 2 major mistakes in our lives.
1. Being born in this country
2. Worked hard paid tax & stamp.

Now, I lost my job of 15yrs last January thru no fault of my own (apart from being a little different from normal humans) and Im having to fight weekly so my family can survive, yet i see our eastern european “cousins” wander around my town with top notch clothes, jewlry, mobiles & cars and hurling abuse at me & partner all this coz theyve been handed it on a plate from the social. My father an ex soldier had a stroke 2 yrs ago and the armed forces didnt want to know, hence my earlier post in this thread which i orignally wrote on Rememberance day. Oh the bit about my old friend, his funeral the Legion turned up with a flag, and my dad & I were the only ones in uniform to honour his passing.

well said, the original act is very sad and deplorable, sadly however it provides an excuse for the verbal onslaught of bigotted and racist views that centre on popular scapegoats. If you want to change the world do as Kev suggests or even just something small closer to home will make a small difference.

My grandfather, (WW.1) father (Korea) and brother (Northern Ireland) did not serve this country to have our hard work and livelihood pinched by a load of unwanted in their own country Gypo’s.

so far no one has suggested the bronze could have been stolen to order either for it’s metal content or for a collector

I have a feeling that the bronze could end up being “reused” for want of a better word, however in some ways the thought that someone could make a profit from taking this war memorial makes this disgraceful crime even worse.

I think everyone agrees it was a vile and sick act and whoever is responsible should be named and shamed then sent to prison for a considerable period of time.

I agree with Cypherus on this, the rot set into our society a long time ago. Many posters to this thread seem to think the culprits are either from an ethnic group or are young yobs, but so far no one has suggested the bronze could have been stolen to order either for it’s metal content or for a collector.

Just a thought.

I think u just about banged the nail on the head Cypherus, i think its down to society and the fact that too many happy clapper do gooders have decided the dregs of society are allowed to have the same rights as normal human beings. Bring back National Service, give the MOD its old Crown exemptions back and keep the press out, and if the odd toe rag gets a beasting then…………..oh well never mind ah diddums. Bex

Societies always loose their way in the end.

Reading through these posts on this subject seems to give the impression that each has their own prime suspect for the crime, The defacement of a memorial in any fashion is a crime and those responsible should take a moment too consider the cost this country and others bore so they could have the freedoms they currently enjoy, but I beleive you are looking in the wrong place for the true culprits of these crimes and society should many years ago have taken a long hard look at the moral values they taught.
Sadly the rot set in many years ago and as the Romans realised shortly before the extinction of their society there is no way back…. 😑

Well said Hatton, coming from an even smaller minority of the population than the ethnic minority I totally agree. Bex

Instead of talking about what you would do if you found them, which you won’t, why not go and do something useful like massage your ego.

Instead of mouthing pure arrogant bile why not stand for election, you already have a manifesto, change the world with your actions rathen just opening your mouth.

hang draw and quarter the b******s how can anyone do such a vile, disrspectful crime? and if some government person says there is little he can do,and that we shouldnt do anything to protect the honour of the fallen or we get arrested then i say that person is incopetent, unpatriotic and by lack of action a sympethsiser of the same people who steal national monuments for the sake of money wich probably goes into drugs.
