Unidentified Nose/Tail Cones?

Hello forum members,

A friend of mine has sent me a couple of pics of two nose/tail cones he has in his possesion. I believe they are made of some bakelite material, was wondering if any of our members can identify what they are and from which aircraft, if any?

Hi Melvin

I really think the one on the right is part of the DF loop housing (the back end – however the rearmost part is broken off). Not sure about the bit on the left though – it looks a bit smaller.

Thanks for the pic – that’s great – is there any chance someone could measure the length?

Maybe parts of a DF loop fairing Melvin? Any chance of some dimensions? I’m looking for one for the Whitley…
