It’s deffinatly Travel City i’d say. Look under the left wing, you can see the huge reg which TF-AME has. I’d also go with Vrocking’s suggestion of it going to Eygpt.
You can also tell by looking at the pictures that it is a Travel City Direct. 😎

It’s definitely TCD, a search on Airliners.net shows a 747 of theirs at Malta, so its not too unusual to see one over western europe, dunno if they are used for Egypt though, the TCD website is guff!!

Manston and America is knowhere near FRA 😉
But then an “East to West” flight over FRA wouldn’t have come from AMS or LHR either  , as Robert stated in his original post.

Definitely looks like TF-AME to me. TCD sometimes do flights to Hurghada, Egypt under a EUK or XLA flight code.

I think so too ? If you look on A.net there are shots of TCD jumbos operating out of European airports too.

Northwest 747?
Flying East to west over Germany would rule out Northwest, I’ve had a look at AMS pics but no 747’s look like this one, i thought about Kalitta but it doesnt look right, also, theres no winglets, so its quite old. 😮

Travel City Direct/ Excel B747?
Tail pattern seems too “messy” for TCD, ta anyway!
