I’ve been sent the following three images for identification. The first is a ventral turret (dustbin?) and the photo appeared in a German newspaper dated 11th July 1940. We believe we know which aircraft loss is depicted here, both type and identity but I would be most appreciative if the experts of the forum could tell me exactly what the aircraft type is.

The next two are of parts said to have come from this crash site, the second of which has been described to me as a hydraulic coupling.

Any help whatsoever with identification of any of the above would be most appreciated.

FN17 (Whitley) left, and FN25 (Wellington) right.
The absence of the sealing plate as seen on the Whitley turret and the presence of what appear to be “stops” for the guns when in the fully depressed position on the Wellington turret are the clinchers imo.

Most likely an FN25 as already stated so my guess would be Wellington. The Whitley had the FN17 which was very similar…

Wellington or Manchester would be my guess..
Highly unlikely to have been a Manchester if the July 1940 date for the newspaper is correct.

The ‘hydraulic coupling’ looks more fuel line to me

Type likely to be Wellington 1A,possibly 9 squadron,,Turret type I think FN25..(although these were also fitted to Manchesters and Whitleys).don`t know what the bits are.
