Wrenchbender, none of my comments towards you were ever in malcontent. I work a union job, as well, in Education. Living in the U.S. I’m sure you’re well aware of the budjet cuts that education has gone through the last 3 years, especially in California. Yet, we continue to spend millions in the space program sending robots to Mars. Why? Are we going to be living there anytime soon? Is there a cure for AIDS or Cancer up there that we are trying to find? I certainly hope so, because valuable money is being wasted in doing that rather than spending it on education. Our benefits are being cut, as well, salary freezes, you name it. My district nearly went on strike a few years ago. Had that happened, the victims would have been our youth. So believe it or not, I do feel your pain, as well as thousands of other union workers. I do not condone what the higherarchy of United has done to you or other employees of United. I continue to fly them because I’m premier executive and they take care of me with upgrades, FF bonuses, and the like, which carries over to their parners, as well. We all come in here to talk about aviation. Some of us obviously know more than others, but that doesn’t take away from those of us that aren’t in the industry. I know a little bit more than the layout of the interior, what the napkins say, etc.

P.S. Thanks Kev-dog

Thank You for the kind words Hamtech. United has taken about everything from my friends and I and now they are working on our pension. I would go crazy if it wasn’t for the RV-7 in my basement. I was 23 when Eastern airlines went out of bussiness. It was really sad. Pilots and mechanics working very menial jobs so they wouln’t lose their houses and selling personal items very dear at fire sales prices just to pay the bills. Executives who put the airline in the toilet reap million dollar bounses. Where is the justice? Being in the same situation, I’m getting just as bitter and hardend as they were.

For Wrenchbender:

I know exactly what you are saying. I suspect you also know that if you had to explain “it” to someone they would not understand.

Keep you chin up old bean.

– Hamtech.

I guess the fact United’s tv commercial has never been seen in the Scottish ITV regions is indicative of the fact they don’t fly out of here anymore ?

Great picture Wrenchbender. Perhaps you should go and bend your wrench on that aircraft, unless of course it’s one you’ve already worked on?

‘Dude If you actually knew anything about airlines other than the pretty paint jobs or commercials we could talk about something. Oh I forgot something!’

Yes, this is quite true, most of us are not connected with the industry. But then again the majority of us aren’t the kind of bitter, twisted individual you portray yourself to be. Perhaps you might benefit feom spending an hour or two mellowing out at one of the BBC’s websites? I understand the Tweenies and the Teletubbies are particularly good.

UNITED AIRLINES DC-8 CRASH AT DENVER
This fatal United Airlines crash occurred within six months of the airlines’ DC-8 crash into New York City, and it was a continuation of 30 years of senseless crashes at this airline associated with a documented pattern of arrogance, air safety and criminal violations. United Airlines and FAA personnel knew the problems resulting in the crashes, and vigorously fought to continue the money saving and self serving culture that inflicted horrendous pain and suffering upon victims of this corrupt environment.

Well Greek dude! tell me how great United is again? Time has moved on but the corporate culture is the same.

When have I ever talked about commercials? Like never. Fine, I don’t work for the industry, therefore I don’t know as much as you. But I know quite a bit for not being in the industry. You’re obviously bitter, we know that. When I say, “vintage wrenchbender,” it’s all in good fun. You don’t need to post that picture anymore. We’ve seen it a million goddamn times. By the way, UNITED RULES!!

It’s always nice to make to have the money to make commercials with the sweat off the employees back. May United rot in Hell

I haven’t seen a United advertisement on the TV for a month or two, but they were incredibly funny.

Their awards were deserved.
