United Airlines is to offer customers the opportunity to pay an annual fee for additional extras such as checked-in baggage and extra legroom.
The annual subscription fee will allow people to save money rather than being charged each and everytime they fly.
Baggage will be $349/yr, extra legroom will be $499/yr.
I really like this idea…it will mean that people who already fly regularily with United won’t feel as if they are being ripped-off by the airline and when the airline increases its charges for these extra things throughout the year, the customers who have paid upfront won’t have a nasty shock at the airport due to the change in the prices.
I wonder if other airlines in Europe will look to introduce anything similar?
