University apologises after Nazi general quote used to motivate staff and students

What has the world come to? Am I the only one under the impression that Erwin Rommel was the German General most admired and respected By the allies during WWII?

Was he not, first & foremost, a good soldier and not a Nazi? Was he not forced to take his own life, by the Nazis, for his involvement in operation Valkyrie, the attempt to kill Hitler and bring a swift end to the war? Please correct me if I’m wrong.

How can we allow history to become so distorted? 😡
