During the late 1990’s the UAE gave the muslims in Bosnia some heavy weapons to protect themselvs, these included AMX-30’s, howitzers and 30-mm SPAAG’s. Egypt threw in some 122-mm howitzers and some sources state even T-54 tanks.
The UAEAF later deployed 4 Apaches to Albania together with US forces. Does anybody know about the size of the UAEAF contingent and its operations? What about other unusuall countries that have participated in such deployemnts?
I remember Indian Canberras and Ethiopian F-86s being deployed to Africa in the 1960’s but my memory isn’t that clear. Mexican fighters were deployed to the Philipines during WW2 and Brazilians to Italy. Any other unusualls?
