This selector switch was acquired some years ago (probably in error; as it was thought to be for a Hawker Typhoon.)
It isn’t, and looks very much like the type fitted to Mk.1 Hurricanes…

Extract from AP1564A Hurricane 1.
The problem is, that it has no Air Ministry Reference numbers, and would seem to be a very early example… there is no position for the reserve tank, which appears on the Mk.1 Hurricane production version.
The Mk.2 Hurricane had the more common “Push selector knob to read contents” Bakelite switch.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Windhover
Thanks for the dimensions.
It does look like the ones I am after, but the photo I have of the Bombay’s fuel/pyrometer panel is not clear enough to read the lettering.
On the panel drawing, the distance between mounting hole centres is 2.218″ both across and vertically.
If you have a look on the Bombay Duck project thread, you will see the fuel/pyrometer panel that I have had cut. The switches fit in the two holes at the bottom left side of the panel, the holes above them are for Smiths fuel gauges “which I am still looking for should anyone have any going spare”.
I would be interested in acquiring the switch if it is available “and another one like it”.
Cheer’s.

This looks similar/same as ? the ones I am looking for, for the Bombay’s fuel/Pyrometer panel.
Any chance of some dimensions so that I can see if it is the correct type ?.
