Unusual Potez

While trying to find out more about the Potez 60 which was at Abingdon , I came across this rather bizarre creation :-

Only one was built – I wonder why !

That Potez 75 was a private concept for a cheap and rough tank-killer. But the French figured it wouldn’t work and inter-service rivalry between the airforce and the army and some politics came in the way and the whole thing was cancelled.
But the single prototype was revived twice: First as COIN aircraft in Algeria, where it worked quite well, and then a second time as liasion aircraft for General Redon (Cdt. de l’ALAT) in Algeria. It crashed in that role in September 1958.

I think its sort of quaintly pretty ish ……..

The French go there own way with everything they don’t seem to be bothered what other people think maybe thats the way to be its more intresting than how us Brits are a lot of the time.
