Anybody care to explain that hurricane off the south eastern coast of Brazil? Bit unusual, wouldn’t you say? Its in the wrong place for a start…

No explanation!
But I “Googled”: “Hurricane Brazil” and got some satelite pic’s etc. It’s apparantly the first south of Equator in the South Atlantic. There was one off Nigeria? some way back –
“But I doubt it had an “eye” “.
Love it! There are other “nerds” out there. I’ll tease my local handful of met-men (and women).
Best regards

This is a serious discussion (at the moment…).
I was asking since the weather forecasters who mentioned this seem to be implying that this was the first time that this event had occurred there, that it might be going in the wrong direction for a normal weather condition in this area (I forget which way cyclones and anticyclones rotate in the southern hemisphere, close to the equator), and that this was the wrong time of year anyway. El Niño is an effect which is governed by the heating and cooling of the Pacific Ocean, and since this hurricane is happening fairly close to the widest part of the South American land-mass this could really be ruled out.
Anyone else care to advance a proposition for or against pollution/global warming?

The world has gone mad, including the weather.
