Unusual WW2 'trench art'

Not aviation but I bet it was carried in a C47 or similar at some point in the war!

Weirdest piece of ‘trench art’ i’ve ever seen. And yes, that is me who bid on it

God knows!

So why does eBay.fr – ostensibly as a result of collaboration with the French authorities – want to protect me from exposure to that? What a curious world we live in!

Do tell us what it is!

A small (approx 150mm long) coffin with ‘Italy 1945’ crudely carved into the lid. The lid pivots around a screw at the foot of the coffin to reveal a carved skeleton within. The skeleton is reasonably anatomically correct except that he has a penis which is articulated on the carving so that, to quote the listing, ‘with a subtle flick of the hand’ the skeleton appears to get an erection.

You had to ask! 😀

Do tell us what it is! For those of us who live in France, so much of this ‘ex-military’ material (which I assume it to be) is blocked from viewing on eBay. So much for freedom of information within the EU!
