Speaking of B-17E’s, I keep hoping that one of these days the Paul Allen/Flying Heritage Collection B-17E may just finally reemerge again. Last known photos of it in one piece, after it was flown into Arlington airport (the original base of Paul Allen’s warbirds, north of Seattle, prior to the museum opening at Paine Field): http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/139220-b-17e-41-9210-and-b-17f-42-29782/
