Taken from an interview with Roman Chernyshev, deputy general director for finance and economics at Progress plant of Arseniyev, carried by WPS: Russian Defense Industry Digest last week:
“We maintain the delivery schedule on the Chinese contract. The intermediate shipment takes place in August 2005, while the major shipment comes in December 2005. We have current problems, but we manage to solve them. This is our major task at the moment. The share of this contract exceeds 90% in the production pattern…The share of the Chinese export contract for the supply of Moskit missile systems exceeds $70m.
The Chinese contract was the major order last year; it is scheduled to perform the major shipments on this contract in December 2005, and August 2006; i.e., we were accumulating the product and were solely incurring expenses.”
