I see VS has decided to enter the ‘horrendous’ livery club…. 😮

I agree Sandy, the metallic paint is stunning. Good choice.

The only thing I like about this livery is the use of a metallic paint for the red. It realy will make liveries with flat colours look old.

There is time-lapse footage of the new livery being applied here: http://www.digitalnewsagency.com/story/view/4805-virgin-atlantic-unveils-new-livery/video?vpo=true

At least the ‘belly titles’ makes for easier visual identification of high level traffic. As for these new VS titles? IMO they should have left well alone.

I think it is very hard to make anything other than a very simple colour scheme suit the B747!
I love the Thai scheme on all of their aircraft, especially their 747s.
This one…..the titles seem a bit narrow, maybe if they had used bold font :p not terrible though

Saw one yesterday on LHR runway 27R

It wasn’t too bad.

VS is one of these airlines I have fallen in love with and therefore can’t really do anything wrong. In their defence I think it is very hard to make anything other than a very simple colour scheme suit the B747!

Actually, belly titles are nothing new. They where used a lot in the 30s and 40s. Back then the planes flew low enough that such advertising actually made sense.
Well as they say you learn something new every day:D and Jonthan I it look better on the A380

Nowt wrong with that…the only thing I would say is that it would have been a bit better if the ‘virgin atlantic’ lettering had been placed slightly lower down as it looks a bit too high-up and therefore doesn’t particularly complement the shape of the 744 that well, but overall I actually quite like it.:)
