Upfield Farm

I happened upon a letter today in the flying club. Not sure quite how old it is. Apparently Upfield Farm near Newport (toward the Welsh borders) held a fly-in recently. About a hundred aircraft attended and so did most of the locals. Those that did not attend and chsoe to stay at home in the gardens complained about the noise. On finding out that the owner recently hard-cored (ppaving slabs wasn’t it?) these set of locals have got a petition out to get the stri owner to dig up the hard surface. Thus he (Ken Bowen?) is sending out letters requesting that the enclosed petition is signed is an effort to out-petition the petitioners.

Heard anything from Upfield? Is the above description about right?
