Having seen what a wonderful job Don Copeland of Arizona Aeropainting did on recreating the dark green, bright olive green and mid-range browns on Paul Allens/FHC Fw190A-5/U3, WNr.1227 (Classic Wings description in Vol.18, No.2), given the ambiguity of the actual RLM colours applied in the field at the time this and other Fw190’s of JG54 saw combat, is there any way to determine the FS codes of the colours he created from surviving chips and approximate RLM codes for these three main upper surface colours used?
I’ve approached Don via email, but in the meantime, any pointers or suggestions appreciated… and a Happy New Year to you all 🙂
