Urgent Help Required

Does anyone on this forum feel like getting involved with the restoration of a Cold War Jet Fighter?
This is not to be taken lightly, the aircraft is capable of engine running and moving under it’s own power ( as proven in the last few months), but alas, it’s not a Buccaneer!!!

Please either PM me with your interest or alternatively email me at Nigel J Goodall
Only the serious need to respond, go on get involved.

Some of the consolidators use airlines like Kuwait Airways or Air India for LHR-JFK flights on those “we’ll name the airline after you book” deals, so buyer beware! For me, KQ would be a no-no as I like the odd tipple or two as I cross the pond! 🙂

Hence the original question. They have now confirmed (verbally) that it is United but what a palaver! I was on the phone for forty-five minutes.

I think it ridiculous that I have still not been officially told. They have told me to confirm the flight with the airline 24 hours before leaving but still have not told me the flight number OR airline!

It would have been easier to walk!

All very interesting.

We now have the confirmation that we have the flight and the money has been paid. There was a problem (a mistake on a credit card) that had caused it not to go through. So, a 45 minute phone call to Ebookers and that was sorted.

We then got the confirmation that we have an electronic ticket by email but nowhere on there is any mention of the flight time, flight number or even airline. It is only because I thought to ask the girl that was sorting out the credit card problem that I know it is United (Had planned to contact them direct tomorrow to ask if I was on the flight).

So, if you choose to use Ebookers and to go for one of their “Ebookers deals” it may well be a nice flight just don’t expect to find out who it is with or where to book in!!!

All is revealed, it is United after all.

but you have to stop eventually!

“Direct” means you might stop several times, whilst “non-stop” usually means what it says.

There is a SIGNIFICANT difference between the term “direct” and the term “non-stop”

Interestingly enough, they showed a 07:30, 10:30 and 11:30 all of which were direct and looking at the same site this morning shows United going at 07:55, 10:50 and 11:50.

I’m rather confused as well, as ebookers doesnt list an 1130 departure option at all, even for flights via somewhere else.

The ebookers site does list airlines and flight numbers though, so I’m not too sure why you didnt get one when you booked?

In most cases yes but they also have ‘Ebookers specials’ where the flight numbers and airline are not listed.

I am inclined the think the changes in time are a smokescreen.

It wasn’t the Nigerian Ebookers site but then I am not sure . . .

What is your flight number including airline iata code (e.g. BD for bmi, VS for Virgin – VS003 etc).

I haven’t even got that. Just an E-ticket to go to IAD. No flight number, airline or anything. This was from E-bookers and all I have is an E-bookers reference.

I have until 19th to sort this out!

Last night I was anxious to find it was not Tierra Del Fuego airlines that was doing it with a 2,000,000 hour 727!

The following is the closest flight.

There is definately no flights listed in the timetable as 11:30am…

11:50 Depart London (LHR)
Arrive Washington DC (IAD) 14:42
Fri 19-May
Duration: 7hr 52min
United United 919
Direct flight

That may well be it. We are booked but the booking thing gave no hint either. This could make life interesting whe we try to book in!

I was just worried it might be Kamikaze Air or that I would have to bring a helmet and flying goggles!

What website is giving you this info without telling you the airline? I can only think that the flights you are looking at are indirect ones with a stopover?

That’s a help,

They are advertising 07:30, 10:30 and 11:30 at the same price so any further ideas?

United Airlines, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic, although none leave directly at that time. The closet is within 20 minutes or so at 11:50.
