Hey guys,
As you know off to LHR tomorrow, but A330 hasnt been in touch which may mean i have to go it alone.
Now please tell me how do I get to any spots whether they are on 09 or 27, and which is the more likely for tomorrow?
Thanks alot guys :).

Thanks guys!
I really enjoyed my day down in Heathrow. I eventually found Myrtle Avenue after wondering around the estate nearby for about 20 minutes lol, its so easy when you know where! The only rain showers luckily were when I were in McDonalds and when I was ready to head back!
Flew back on bmi onboard G-MIDV. Had some problems with my ticket for some reason, appeared that the amount hadn’t debited in bmi’s account for some reason, which explained why I couldn’t use online or self check in. The staff were excellent in dealing with it though.
bmi disappointed just like the last time I flew them. I honestly find their aircraft very uncomfortable for some reason, absolutely hate the seat coverings. I feel more comfortable on Ryanair! Was moved to an exit row because the flight was that empty (about 30-40 people), so had a little more room.
One thing I did notice that I have never ever noticed on a flight before, is that the crew didn’t demonstate how to use the life jacket. Does anyone know if this is normal on bmi? Seems a bit odd when every other airline I have flown does.

Enjoy the rest of your day, even if the rain is meant to get heavier 😀

Hey guys!
I am currently sat on an internet cafe in T1 after flying down on G-BUSE from MAN this morning. BA were excellent, although disappointed to only get a muesli bar!
Have been sat at a bus stop (lol) under the approach for 27R earlier, got some nice shots. I am planning to head back out to Myrtle Avenue in a bit before my flight home with bmi this evening. Hope the weather improves!
Thanks for all the help :).

We’ll probably just miss each other Sam, my flight from MAN doesn’t arrive until 11:00 am. Looking forward to a few hours shooting (With a camera ;)), heavies, and getting my first flight on British Airways!
Have fun then! Don’t let those BA A319’s get you bored 😀

The arriving aircraft is taken from the spot where Grey Area was moved on from, next to the work sheds and the former crossing area to/from the British Airways hangars.
The second is no doubt somebody sticking their lense through the fence just across from the visitor’s centre.
Both are runway 27R.

Hi Tom,
Im off to Heathrow on Tuesday until Wednesday. At the moment there looking like they’ll be on 27’s, 27R arrivals in the morning and 27L in the afternoon. On Wednesday, if there on 27’s I plan on going to that round-about and getting a few shots in the morning before travelling home Wednesday afternoon.
Talking to one of my friends who is a regular at LHR and he says that he hasn’t been moved nor has any of his friends (From 27R app) so I assume it’s ok, just depends who see’s you I suppose.
I was planning on going to 27R at about 6am but atm it’s light showers so it might still be abit dark. Anyway i’ll have to see what happens! 😀
If by any chance there on 09’s I would advise you still go to Myrtle Av. Or the Recreation ground which is still quite close. They’ll be departing on 09R all day if there on 09’s.

And do I imagine correctly that this shot is taken from Myrtle Avenue?
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1096968/L/Have any of these spots got more restricted following the recent terror alert, or there there any better shots people would recommend?
If they are 09’s, is there anywhere at all decent for photography? Last time I went, I wasn’t photographing, but they were on 09’s and I noticed a severe lack of good views! Don’t want to end up round by the Visitors centre again all day!
That shot is probably not taken from Myrtle Avenue, but instead further up, closer to the rwy landing and approach lights.
Currently, ops for wednesday will be on the 27s becuase of the westerly wind direction, so you won’t have to worry about getting to the 9 end for shots.
As for tighter security, I dont think you’d face a problem – not on myrtle avenue atleast because you’re on a public park; as for spots for shots on 27R, you may notice a bit more security, especially around the maintenance area and the ‘sheds’, but still, i shouldnt think you’d be moved on.
hope that helps

Felt that I might as well bring this one back up ;).
Hi guys,
I have my second day down at Heathrow on Wednesday, and I am hoping to get some good shots.
Just looking for some info. Are the following photos:

Taken from the spot mentioned for 27R on the first page of this thread?
