Urgently need a couple of these……

Does anyone have a couple (or 6 😀 ) of these pins knocking around in the bottom of their spares bucket?

They are Martin Baker pins used to attach leglines to the floor anchors. Part number engraved on the knurled end is MBEU8921 (iss 4) – length is about 35mm total, the pin part is about 23mm

Happy to profer some beer tokens or possibly a swap if I have something you want or need.

Just bumping this thread as I’m still looking for at least two more of these knurled pins to go on the legline anchors.

Found two still attached to end of leglines in XL564. Sent you a direct mail with details.

Alternatively, a pair of pins with the ‘finger pull rings’ attached as long as they are the same size/length (similar to the seat-pan pins, without the red warning disc).

TIA

No worries Mark and thanks for the scans. The voyage of discovery continues… Anyone got a spare emergency oxygen bottle or Mk3 regulator?

Very many thanks to Ian_ for sending me a pair of these anchor pins. Very much appreciated.

I’d still like (if possible) to get hold of another four of these for my other two seats in case anyone managed to spot any. As before, beer tokens or swaps available.

Didn’t your mates tell you that the simple way to fit LR pins was do it upside down! Then you could see it all and simply slide them into place. Much practiced on JP, Lightnings Jaguars etc.

Cabbage, theres no such thing as an “ex-armourer” – you must be a “retired armourer”!
😀

I can just picture this situation. There you are, upside down in the cockpit with your mates waitng eagerly to help you get out afterwards, HA HA!!

Yes, I was forcebly retired in 1994, due to compulsory redundancy.

The picture brings back memories of bruised and scraped knuckles, caused by fumbling around under Vulcan and Buccaneer ejection seats.

They aren’t the easiest of items to push home, or remove, while sitting on the seat, and reaching blindly under the seat pan.

In case you’re wondering, I’m an ex-armourer who spent many many hours fitting and removing BANG SEATS from Both types of aircraft.

Hi Ian,

Many thanks for the offer – may take you up on it as long as you are sure you don’t need them. I actually need two for my 2H seat in the Hunter, having now managed to locate a pair of anchors for the cockpit floor, but could actually do with 4 or even 6 at a push, for my other seats!

Do you need any further info on the 3KS seat? – you say you’ve bought ‘half’ of a manual – I’ve got quite a bit on the 3KS, including info on building up the PSP kit and (IIRC) packing the main chute. I assume you have the parts breakdown? Let me know if I can help with it at all, as I’ve spent many a long hour beating my Vulcan seats into submission!

I’ve got a pair on my seat. I won’t be attaching it to anything so you are welcome to them if a loose half dozen can’t be found. Bought myself half of a 3KS manual for Chrimbo so really getting into the nitty gritty now!
