As one person on that thread said, it sounds like a pipe dream.
So they plan on raising a bunch of money, buying US Airways and then attempting to do what the last few CEO’s have been doing for the last 4 years, fix all the internal problems? I think a better investment of their money would be to invest it into their own retirement rather than attempt to buy an airline.
Remember all the United employees pushed for and got an employee stock ownership program that included a seat on the board of directors. Then after 9/11 when the stock prices dropped about 95% the program ended up costing them just about everything they had put into it. Not a wise move in hindsight.
