US Asian bases vs. Indian Air Force

Postings in INDO-Russian defence deal gave me this idea.

I think, it is very interesting scenario. Notwithstanding new Indo-US equation, assume there is a conflict between India and US (using its Far East/Middle East and Madagaskar fleets).

Let’s assume no country threatens to use nukes.

A few points about India which I gathered from AFM are

India has both western and russian a/cs as well as reasonably advanced missiles (better than scuds atleast).

India has around 1000 a/cs some of them quite lethal(M2K, Fulcrums, SU27/30. Jags). Its pilots have good mil. experience.

Its a/c forces are geographically distributed unlike IRAQ/Bosnia etc.

India can reach US Asian bases thru its bombers and missiles unlike IRAQ.

India may get active (though clandestine Russian) minor help during war.

Indians have better handle on electronic warfare than Iraqis.

It will be difficult for CNN to portray frail 80 yr old democratic Vajpayee in the Saddam frame

But coming back to the possible conflict, how will US attack india if it has to and possible indian responses (I don’t think india will be stupid enough to attack US fleets first)
