US military plane crashes on Puerto Rico, 10 killed

WASHINGTON – An US military plane has crashed on the island of Puerto Rico in the Caribbean, killing ten people, a military spokesman said.
“There were ten persons aboard. There are no survivors,” US Southern Command spokesman Steve Lucas said.
The MC-130 special operations plane was on a training mission, he added.
The MC-130 “Combat Talon” conducts infiltrations into politically
denied/sensitive defended areas to resupply or extricate special operations forces and equipment.
These missions are conducted in adverse weather at low-level and long range.
Lucas said the exact circumstances surrounding the crash “will come out” during the investigation.
