US PR Spits

It does look kind of nice in those markings though as a brit the RAF roundels are my thing.

I like US PR Spitfires, I recently cobbled a couple of side views together.

The photos which you are linking to were scanned and uploaded by me. The two Spitfires uploaded by Spitfireman were both flown by my father albeit with 1944 colour schemes. This is a paint job I have wanted to see ever since I first saw it in a book around 1982. Wonder if a certain UK Spit XI owner is interested in a scheme out of the ordinary.

Or perhaps one for the rebuilt PL983…

A lovelly scheme! Although I think he has other intentions that will make her one of the most origional Spits on the block;)

As the comments state, there are others of ‘965.

PL965 actually wore USAAF markings immediately following her rebuild in the 1990s.

Annoyingly, I can’t find a photo of her in these markings on Google! :rolleyes:

But unfortunately that was the blue scheme. Time to get another silver Spit flying.

Too bad though. I guess one just have to pitch the idea to the owners of PL983.
