US-rogue nation in the making?????

Can somebody gave me a clear explaination why the US do not want its soldiers to be judged by an international court.Are they saying that the US servicemen -perfect or too good to judged by another countries if they commited a crime while performing their so call peacekeeping duties?It is a pity to see such a proud and great nation like the US failed to lead by examples and this is the nation which preached human rights and so on.Most of the recent action of the US govt failed to show the world – about their sincerity in fighting the world manace(rogue nations)-for me,the US are slowly becoming one.
