US WW2 aircraft compessed air gun mechanisms

Good morning, I wonder if anyone can identify the possible use of a Gun Firing Pressure gauge that I have – see photos. It is calibrated to 200 Lbs per sq. inch and was made by the US Gauge Co, NY. Below the makers logo, it says FIG-2050. On the reverse is a data plate that says ‘Type AW-2-46, serial no. 18533. Someone has mentioned that some fighter aircraft used a compressed air system to operate the machine guns. It came with a pair of MkVIII goggles. Any thoughts?

many thanks, Dave
