A determined young pilot has set himself the challenge of flying across America in aid of one of the UK’s most deserving charities. James Moon, 17, will take to the skies in August in aid of Help For Heroes, the charity dedicated to helping wounded Servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.

James, who at one point was told he would never fly again after suffering a fractured spine, proved medical staff wrong on his way to becoming one of the UK’s youngest ever private pilots. During his flight from Florida to Los Angeles and back, he will be stopping in a number of U.S cities to spread the word about the work of Help For Heroes and collecting as much money as possible for the cause.

So he is from the UK? What’s the story behind why he is in the States?

Seems like a kid, and I wish him all the best in his very noble cause.

This was posted about a year ago and the poor bloke has only received £90.00 in donations according to his website. Has he done the flight yet?
