I went to the Sunnyvale (California, USA) Library and was reading the 2003/2004 issue of Janes Book of Aircraft. On page 408 describing the Su-27, it made mention back in 1998 of the two Japanese pilots of who the Diet (the Japanese Congress) appropriated $300,000 for them to go to Russia and take the 46 day pilot’s course to fly the Su-27! These were Japanese F-15 pilots.
In the same general area was a statement that in November 26, 1995, the USAF purchased two su-27’s delivered in an An-124, “to support training purposes!”
Now, who was surprised at the results of COPE INDIA, not me!
