USAF Drakens?

Caught a brief glimpse of a programme on National Geographic channel last night. Students at a test pilot school were doing spin stall training in what appeared to be Drakens. I was surprised to see the USAF using a non US aircraft, was I mistaken? Apart from the USMC adoption of the Harrier, is there any other cases of the US using foreign hardware? It would seem to be against type to me.
