USAF Training

The training aircraft the USAF operates are of a very good variety. They operate the T-37 Tweet in the basic/advanced role, the T-1 Jayhawk for pilots going to larger aircraft, and the T-38 Talon for pilots going to fighter/attack aircraft. Even though I know this basic knowledge, can anyone explain to me what student pilots are taught on each of these three aircraft. I don’t really understand what aspects of flight are taught on each. I like the T-37 the best, but that is just me, and all three are essential to the training syllabus. It is a shame that the T-37 will be phased out in a few years time. If it were up to me, I would put newer, more powerful, and more fuel efficient engines in as well as a suite of modern avionics. Giving the aircraft a light stores capability (like on the T-37C- the USAF operates the T-37B) would be nice too. I know the airframes are old, in which case, maybe finding some way to restart production would be nice. I talked with a pilot that flies the T-37 at an air show recently and he told me that the USAF really likes the side by side seating. For those of you that said it wasn’t effective, and you know who you are, ha ha ha. All that crap I got about tandem being so much better. I guess it is a matter of opinion. Anyway, he told me that the USAF likes and prefers the side by side seating over tandem seats. The T-6A Texan II that the USAF will receive in several years has tandem seating primarily because the U.S. Navy really wanted it according to the pilot I spoke with. He also told me that the T-6A was really more of a Navy thing to begin with so I guess that would explain the seating choice (and aircraft choice too). He told me that the USAF said that if they were going to get a prop plane to replace the jet T-37, the thing had to fly like a jet, which the T-6A does. From what I hear the T-6A is a very impressive aircraft. I still prefer the T-37 however. Comments on the T-37 are nice, but I wanna know the roles of the three training planes first before we get into some big debate about my T-37/seating comments and what not.
