If you check in on the site for the USS Alabama and in fact the whole Battleship park in Alabama, you will find that the ship itself is listing to port up to 10 degrees due to shifting in the storm surge (it has happened before) and the ship will have to be righted again to a level set….the bigger fear is that the aircraft in the museum building at Battleship park MAY not have survived the storm but that has yet to be determined, and the list of aircraft at the park is extensive, covering many different eras and wars and including a P-51D, a Corsair and an SR-71. The whole park is closed until forces can be rallied to set things right (by comparison the submarine USS Drum seems to have weathered the storm unscathed)…
Best wishes to the folks who keep the whole place up and running that they will be able to open once again and return to normal…

Alabama’s list is the result of mud deposits. She took only slight damage with no flooding. All the damaged aircraft are described as “repairable.”

I’ve been to the USS Alabama Museum a couple of times. I was wondering how she faired from the Hurricane. Surprising the USS Drum did so well. The last time I seen her (4 years ago?) she was in terrible condition! She was listing heavily and had more rust on her than metal. 😮
