Although I have not been able to get around to seeing her close up, the Harry S Trumann has been in the Portsmouth area this week. As normal for the visists of these ships, she has anchored off Stokes Bay, Gosport (in the Solent), and makes a great sight.
A bonus (& I know this is off Warhips topic) was the other day when P&O cruises new Arcadia passed her on her maiden trip into her base port of Southampton.
I copied the attacched images from the local Portsmouth newspaper (hence the copyright labeling) so that those who could not/cannot get to see her can view.

Ummmm…I’m confused…I thought the Carl Vinson was supposed to be the last US carrier to employ the F-14…unless the Vinson is still deployed and the ‘Truman’ is visiting the UK on its way home, which would make the Vinson the last one, indeed…anyone know?

I saw those pics too in the “Metro”. B+W onlt though. Which of those 2 vessels would you like to spend a month on? The luxury of an ocean liner or the fast pace (and danger) of an A/C carrier?
