I came across this photo that shows, what appears to be the Utterly Butterly Stearmans’ in South Korea. Does anyone know if this is true, when it was, or any more about this?

Since the subject of the ‘Butterlies’ in China came up, I thought these might be of interest – I found these during this weekend’s ‘trawl’ of the ‘net on a Chinese language site… http://www.cycnet.com/cms/2004/newssports/hkht/tupian/t20041105_13556.htm The pics are from 2004.

Will I get the chance to buy a product with a free Corgi Stearman model in pink livery, for under £2? (Errmmmm and even if I can, will I be able/want to use said product myself? I hope it doesn’t have ermmm Wings, if ya know what I mean 😉 )

I heard a rumour that Sywell was UB’s last UK show, what’s happening to them, and will they be back?

It was mentioned elsewhere on here that they have a new sponsor.

We took two of the Stearmans to Airshow China in 2000 at Zuhuhai Guangdong province in Southern China. We were there for a month which included reassembly of the two A/C, some press flying and the Airshow its self. The A/c were then disassembled and put back in containers for there return to the UK. Whilst there the A/C were painted with water washerble paint and had logo’s for GREE Airconditioners, a local sponsor, applied. must dig my pics out sometime 🙂
It is

Thanks for that guys! Another bit of curiosity cleared up! I did wonder if that said “Utterly Butterly” in Chinese, but I guess the word doesn’t ‘spread’ that far!!! 😀

Thanks Ewan,
I’m not very well up on oriental languages, but thought the flag attached to the top looks like it has a Korean Airlines logo on it and wasn’t sure if the fuselage script was Chinese or Korean.

Utt Butts have been to China in the past few years, airfreighted out and then re-assembled.
